Paraiba

Paraiba Tourmaline Collection -Award winning designs Resembling a sugar cube dipped in Windex, Paraiba stones are found only in designer jewelry. These unique gemstones with their unusual colors ranging from aquamarine blue to greens and purples have a history as rich as their colors. Paraiba tourmaline was not discovered until less than 30 years ago, by a man who had the erratic idea that something special resides in the hills of Paraiba, Brazil -Heitor Dimas Barbosa. After a few years, the Paraiba mines were closed and no more Paraibas were discovered. There are only a limited amount of these stones existing on the market. In 2001, a stone almost identical to Paraiba was discovered in Africa. However, the value of African tourmaline is significantly less than the original Paraiba gemstones. The stones that we use in our jewelry are genuine Paraiba tourmaline, originating in those mystical hills of Paraiba. Remaining rare precious gemstones as much today as they were 30 years ago, these treasures are not easily found, yet their unique colors and qualities are easily treasured.
