1969

1969. Kiev. Leon is holding a 25 carat Royal Asscher Cut diamond. Russia circa 1969 looked very much like America at the time when shoes and dentures were made out of wood and movies were silent.

Leon learned old world jewelry technique from old masters working with just few hand tools. Just like many generations of goldsmiths were working for hundreds of years before.

Leon is a bench jeweler, himself working at the bench for a couple of decades.

All our jewelry is produced in-house to precise specs and is available exclusively here.

Micropave.com is here to showcase Leon's best micropavė work as well as some most popular, unique and unusual styles. All in stock and ready for your immediate consumption. You can buy it here with no markup, no intermediaries, directly from the designer and producer.

A ring is simply a glorified holder for your stone. It's a device attaching the precious crystal to your finger. The best ring is the one you see the least and the one showing the most and the best of your stone. Invisible ring is the ultimate goal, and we will never achieve it.

So we make the best of the situation - we make it as thin and delicate as possible. When we cannot further reduce the thickness of metal without of risk of making it fragile we shape the metal in all sorts of ways to make it less noticeable. Or we simply cover the surface with little flashlights. They cover the surface with a brilliant glow, that's why they are called brilliants. Diamonds wrapping the surface of metal are called pavė (PA - VEY : french for pavement). Really small pave is called "micropavė".

Today we produce incredibly intricate and spectacular pieces studied with tiny diamonds and colored stones. Nowhere in the world such a skilled team of craftspeople was assembled. We make very few pieces but we put our heart and soul in every little detail.
